Saved 85 quid on my insurance quote from just spending 2 mins on a comparison website and then a 5 minute call to my insurance company. Now paying 200 quid for the year on my gtd which I don't think is too bad  :smiley:

Dealing with insurance companies is a nightmare. What I don't understand is why they classify factory fitted options as almost after market modifications. DCC especially increased my insurance which is a lot of nonsense  :angry: :angry:

My insurance have never ever asked about factory fit options and I've never told them anything either. Car is insured for market value and that's up to 50k. Some companies work different to others I suppose.

Got them from a seller on eBay that paints them any colour you want. If I recall correctly about 45 each painted. Plain caps can be bought from VW at about 30 quid each and painted by a bodyshop/rattlecan.

OOO yes....I agree...carbon mirror covers rule.



Im struggling to find anything else to add to the GTI at he minute...just love driving it...still 50/50 on getting a propper remap.

First chance to give it a deep clean since delivery one month ago

I carried out a full degrease, paint cleanse, claybar, glass cleaned, cloth seats scotch-garded for protection, initial coat of Dodo Juice Supernatural, and water repellant over all windows resulted in this - some nice deep colour and reflections coming through :)

Gave my car a long awaited detail after the winter. Snowfoam, followed by 2 bucket method wash and then a couple of coats of Collinite 476 wax.

Also tried the popular transparent bonnet mod  :laugh:
