That’s why I’ve been sticking with EBC pads, they don’t seem to create too much mess and have a good lifespan. For heavier cars like the mk6 I’d always go red stuff up front as it’s a harder compound and can run a higher temp before fading.

I hate Redstuff installed on my MK4 R32 and I found they were awful until the brakes were hot  :cry:

For people wondering incase you want to do it too.

I ended up purchasing Brembo UV painted discs.
More info on what this means Here

But in a nutshell;
When compared with discs with conventional corrosion protection , UV-coated discs ensure better resistance against corrosion, as confirmed by corrosion resistance testing in a salt spray chamber and moisture resistance tests. UV coating also clearly passes all tests with respect to resistance to high tempatures.

And will be using these pads.

Looks like a good option, so the coating they have is similar to that on the Black Diamond disks?

How much did it all cost, if you don’t mind me asking?

Exactly I did look up the APC Black diamond and felt that at the price point they are at, I could litreally upgrade to 6 pot :D

In terms of price, this is the crazy part. So, I looked in the normal places and they were coming in around £80-112 per disc for the fronts and £49-60 per disc for the rear. Honestly, I was happy to pay that but then I spotted them of all places in Halfords.... £180 all in (Not including pads) :shocked:

Just to add as well, I don't Think Halfords realise that they have these incorrectly priced ether.

I just triple checked as I doubted myself, on the side of the boxes are the model numbers.
- Fronts are: 09.9772.11
- Rear are: 08.A202.11

As you will see from these links from the officail Brembo website, they are confirmed the UV painted ones :)

The rear discs were sadly 10mm to big. Have ordered the 272mm ones.
