Hi,

I bought a 2014 Golf GTI last week and so far I'm loving it!!!

However, I have noticed the satnav/radio screen is smaller (5.8" screen) & lower resolution than others I've seen. It would seem VW upgraded the screens to a larger (6.6") and better resolution one soon after my Golf was built.

Does anyone know if it's possible to upgrade to the 6.5" screen easily?

I have found this https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/vw-golf-Mk7-Mib-2-Sat-nav-System/124242062877?ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT&_trksid=p2060353.m1438.l2649
one on Ebay, would it work without too much trouble.

Any advice you provide would be appreciated.

Thank You.

Steve.

2014 will have a MIB1 unit.
iirc the bigger screen won't do you much good as the resolution spat out by the nav unit is still low and you'd end up with a black frame around the content if you fit a mib1 pro screen.

If you want it to definitely work, I'd get one of the retrofitting companies to fit you the standard nav unit from the mk7.5.

Think it's about a grand.
Current: Mk8 GTI DSG, Adelaides, DCC, HUD, HK, Winter Pack, Rear Camera.. Aka "HMS Weasel"

Gone: 2017 Mk7.5 GTD,manual, NavPro
Gone: 2014 Mk7 GTD, manual, NavPro, DCC

Great, thank you for your information.

Think I might have to live with the smaller screen for the time being.
