'twanging' noise from suspension leg......
« on: 24 July 2010, 17:15 »
Can any techies suggest a cause. On moving the car from rest a loud bang came from the front n/s and now the suspension makes loud(ish) spring 'twanging' noise when turning from lock to lock. No obvious change in ride height or posture of car and no obvious sign of damage to spring or suspension leg. Is there anything 'known' which might explain this. It seems to drive perfectly OK. Just don't want it to fall to bits on me! Also if I have to replace the suspension leg is it an easy job?

Cheers

Sounds like it may be a broken spring from the noise

Could it not be the bearing has colapsed that sits with in the top mount
