I'm going to also find out from the Vr6 OC boys what they think of the two and if they can recommend anything better. I doubt it so i think i will be going for them also in a coupld of months!

sweet. well i will wait for you to make the mistake of buying the wrong coilies then..... :D

maybe we can get a discount if we get 5 people or something to buy those coilies too? there is two of us already. although i wont be looking to buy them for a few months tbh.

sounds cool mate, just a little bit lower and wider and itll be awesome!!
have to say after having a go in a tt im stuck over what engine conversion to do meself! vr or 20vt? lol
did you have to sort engine mounts etc with yours...?
(need to have another read through the whole thread again as i cant remember most of it :D too many things keep changing!)

lol, always changing the damn thing :D

drops straight in using mk3 16v engine mounting brackets. they bolt straight to the 20vt block. you can use the 8v mounts i think, but the engine fouls the bay a little. i think its the cam cover hitting the master cylinder or something on that side of the bay.

i love boost now and the 20vt's are good engines to roll with.

If I ever do an engine conversion, a 210 or 225 S3/TT engine will be dropped in my 16v.

Nice colour.

Thinking about R32 blue for my estate.

I think it would set off the beige and brown interior nicely.

As for DH's comments, I actually think they make the thread better.

A bit like putting chilli sauce on a kebab.

Anyway - car looks mint, great job!

Not much of an update, but a little list of plans. Should have some more pics to put up later of it actually clean. Also cleaned the zaust, which took ages! Hoping to make a start on the below list this weekend

Plans:
Fit electric mirrors/windows
Tidy up engine bay - rocker cover and inlet manifold should be seeing some paint, wires will be getting tidied up, a general clean and perhaps some new vacuum hosing and some new brackets.
Wrap headlining and pillars in some lairy patterned material.
Rebuild and fit new driveshafts
Flat back and polish new paint to bring it up to standard (lazy bodyshop!)
Finish spraying wheels in a color I haven't decided yet.
Buy and fit new coilovers/top mounts.
