Outrageous...
I don't think it will ever catch on though. Imagine how many business would go crash!
-
What a crock! Most products now are PH friendly anyway?
-
What next....
It's all these do gooders that screwing everything up....don't get me started....
-
theres a reason why people dont use garage car washes
cheap, nasty and do more harm than good to your car
-
If this does kick off then the government will have to regulate the 'hand car wash' mob and that would take years and a fortune.
-
What they going to do...put us all in jail for it. I think not.
-
They talk about forecourt profits dropping but seem to overlook the retailers who make a lot of money selling (in many cases superior) products for washing your car at home! What a load of crap! Plus I think there are many more harmful products which get washed into the drainage system by rainfall, home car washing is just a drop in the ocean!
-
Will not happen.
-
There must be more oil & grease plus detergents put down the drains from cooking and food preparation than washing my own car.
So if they were ever to implement and enforce this then they had better start coming around an washing my dishes too
A simple message here to the independent retailers, either sort out the utter BS that your representatives come out with or people will go elsewhere for their fuel.
Now I'm going back outside to clean a load of seagull crap off my car
-
That article cracked me up, apparently in some parts of Germany you can't wash your car, play your radio loud or mow the lawn on sundays as its a day of rest..ludicrous.

Funny but true, don't remember where I've heard it on but in one of the states in America you're not allowed to wash you car with a used pair of knickers whilst topless....
-
Oh damn, i was just planning on doing that as well. :lipsrsealed:
-
Didn't need to read the article apart from the header to realise this is absolute none sense(to put it politely) what a total joke, are eat my own poo before I use petrol stations facilities....

Now there's commitment!!!!!

there should be more regulation in this area as the environment is important... however an outright ban on home/personal cleaning and imposing that cars only be washed using terrible automated car washes is obviously not the answer
there are already solutions ranging from environmentally friendly shampoos and cleaners to inflatable wash pads to collect contaminated waste fluid. eg: http://www.morclean.com/mobile-floor.html (http://www.morclean.com/mobile-floor.html)
-
Wouldnt stop me.
-
Environment is important...try telling that to all the countries that has thousands of motor bikes, Tuk Tuks etc.....Yes the UK will sort the rest of the world..........

so we shouldn't all do our little bit and lead by example?
-
Yes Guy...we should..... I suppose it keeps the cleaning providers in a job selling friendly shampoos and cleaning products....
I'm all for saving the planet..but let's hit the big guys first....

just had a read, to be honest there are some points that made me think, our Greese/oil and clog up the swers? sooo you telling me that the actual poo thats down there is better? gotta laugh at that also that the "Shampoos used have bad cemicals" thats bul crap, if it was that bad, it would damage our paint work? correct me if im wrong but arnt our drainage systems made of BRICK!? so our paint work is harder wearing? Give over, anyway I honestly couldn't care less if they put this in place I have personally used the "So called better car washes" and all they do is leave streaks, don't clean your car correctly and can damage the paintwork.
Lock me up for "washing my car" I say

i think its more to do with pollution of water courses and groundwater systems
-
