Title: Replace the thermostat
Post by: KCP on 27 October 2013, 15:54
Hi
I followed the great walk though my T J G to replace the thermostat on my golf 1.8t AGU
a of bit difference. But when I took the thermostat housing off there was no thermostat  so I put the new one in then I put the o ring on and then the housing but I think I have put it in the wrong way I think it should have been o ring then thermostat then housing  . I took it for a run and it went to 90 and stayed there and I checked it and it dose not leak.

People usually remove thermostats to cure overheating issues so keep an eye on things.

will do I don't know the history of the engine as I put it in last year as I bought the car as a non-runner when I took it apart I found the sparkplug had blown-up and taken the piston with it
