The 2.5 from certain Legacies has a reputation for headgaskets, but a 2.0 or 2.2NA from a Legacy, or Impreza should be pretty bombproof.

Obviously what this really needs is a 3.0 H6 out of an Outback, but that's something of a big ask.

Don't know much about these other than a friend at work has a bay window powered by a WRX motor, he doesn't seem to have any trouble with it other than lifting the nose when he plants his boot!

There was a really tidy job on one at whitenoise over the weekend, he just said he had to have the rad fans on a lot to keep it cool.

Bay or T25?  The T25 is watercooled anyway and has a 16litre cooling system, so would be plenty sufficient to look after a 2.0 NA Subaru motor.

I think Jord's is an aircooled T25. Would need the whole cutting for the rad at the front and all the cooling system plumbed in. Still much easier than doing it on a bay or split though.

Definitely a bay (Type 2). It was restored to it's former glory so looked totally original inside and out (until you looked behind the engine cover), was worth a fortune I'm sure.

Snot:

B-plate and lower grille, plus he says it's a 2.1 auto on the first page of this topic.

Bays never had any glory to be returned to them.

Right, this is going to be returned to me soon for about a month whilst the engine finds its way to the garage.

I want to get on with the bodywork, so shall i pay someone or learn it myself? i want to really get the rust under control first off, its starting to creep in a lot of places.

Any volunteers eh?

Also the engines costing £2200 fitted, good price or does anyone know somewhere else?
