2.0Tdi dodge caliber changing fuel filter
« on: 12 January 2012, 10:26 »
Okay I'm going to change the diesel fuel filter on my 2.0TDI anything I'm missing please help chaps!

Take battery lead off
Open fuel cap to release pressure from tank
Take off cap/pipes to fuel filter
replace filter topping up with some diesel before?
Secure clips and clips
Remember to close the fuel cap!
Ignition on without start to prime lines couple of times
Then start up?

Anything I need to remember?

cheers
Jay

Only other thing you could do is take a look at the seals whilst you are there due to increasing (albeit minimally) levels of biofuels making their way to the forecourts.

Are they affecting rubber seals that much?

I've done a few checks and it seems fine but I've moved some pictures on here for you Slick you proberly seen them already though.
On another note my engine code is defo "BKD"
I've got the EGR, TB seals ready just finding the right time to clean it out.

Serviced the old gal fuel filter, air filter and oil filter you think it was an easy job think again pictures say a thousand words!  :lipsrsealed:
I was given the wrong fuel filter so had to redo it all over again, after it sprayed a load of diesel in the bay

Not so much affecting, but more of a prudence/ preventative thing.

It takes a long time to affect them, but it depends on how often you swap filters out etc.
