Why are the GT TDI's
« on: 04 January 2011, 20:54 »
so badly equipped?

I've been looking for one for ages and it seems like every one I have looked at has sweet FA in the way of equipment.

I don't understand why though.  :undecided:

Its a shame that most are so badly equipped, I am probably going for a 5 door diesel car next and wanted to stay with a golf but will probably go for an A3 tdi instead purely because they are usually specced better.

Its the main reason why I chose the S Line over the Golf.

For near as damnit the same money I had a fully equipped car with the options I wanted and with lower mileage.  Only difference was the age; about 6 months but the difference in spec, fit and finish etc etc was too hard to ignore.

That and the S Line is the better looking car IMO.

The final nail in the coffin was the to55er of a sales man who was
a) rude to Linzi and TOLD her to sit in the back when taking the car for a test drive
b) couldn't be bothered to entertain the idea of sourcing a car with my spec - bluetooth, MSFW and 18 inch wheels.  Hardly expensive, awkward options

Think I must have dropped lucky with mine then. Ex dealer demo with less than 1k on the clock (back in 2006).

Came with 18" VW alloys, Full leather, heated seats, dual zone climate, cruise control, full central armrest, Sat Nav (MFD2), under seat storage boxes, highline and MFSW.

Since upgraded the MFD2 to an RNS510 and swapped the GT steering wheel for a new GTI style one.

Only options the car didn't get (as far as I can see) is Sunroof, Xenons, Winter Pack, folding mirros with puddle lights & and reverse sensor pack.

Love it to bits.
2022 Tiguan R-Line 2.0 TSI 4-Motion. Nightshade blue, pano roof, IQ lights, Nav Pro, Harmon Kardon, Heated Windscreen, Heated rear seats, Wireless charging, Heads up display, dual height boot floor, Keyless with electric tailgate, Electronic TPMS, underbody protection, Area View Cameras

I'll have my GT TDI up for sale in the next few weeks.

2004, 58,000 miles, GTI Interior, GTI Gearstick, Remapped, Milltek Cat Back Exhaust, Colour Coded GTI Rear Bumper, Cruise Control, Dual Zone Climate Control, FSH, could well be a few other bits too.

Let me know if your interested!
