Mine doesnt have DPF. Certainly is a very good car and sensible buy. Considerably more economical than the mk2 GTi. Still haven't got 'used' to it though... still in love with the mk2 GTi lol. I'm sure the mk5 will grow on me eventually
The DPF system is more reliable in terms of consistent emissions and fuel consumption, however, it needs time to activate, and also time to run regeneration cycles, so short journeys do it no good.
