heater troubles

 the heater controlls on me mk2 dont seem to work very well . i can only have hot/cold air blowing on the screen or down on me feet the selector dosnet really select the others
has anyone got any ideas..

Not sure what it tells you in the Haynes Manual, but is this any help?

It could be one of the clips that holds the cable outer has come off. If you look at the pics rich has put on you can clearly what i mean.

It happened to me on a polo, so Its worth a look at.

Had a similar problem on my MkII mate.
The lever on the heater wasn't working, it blowing air just fine tho'. My mechanic had a look and said that the cable on the inside had broken. He fixed it in no time.. n' didn't cost sweet FA!
