Title: Inlet Manifold Cover
Post by: naxcars on 15 July 2018, 20:40
Tried the search but cant find a part number for this MK7 cover.

Also was wondering if this interferes with the VW racing 600 airbox assembly?

You can order here - https://www.awesomegti.com/shop-by-brand/awesome/oem-inlet-manifold-cover-for-vag-2-0tfsi-ea888-gen3-engines/

If not make sure you also get the screw in post too.

Not sure about your second question.

I purchased mine from Awesome and that came with the post. Whole thing took 5 minutes to fit.

Does this have any purpose over / above a cosmetic improvement of the engine bay? I'd wondered what the spare looking mount thing was. Did they used to come with these fitted, but no longer on the 7.5s?

Mines a Mk7 2014 and wasn't installed when I purchased from new :(  Yes it seems to tidy the engine up quite nicely :)

Serves no purpose what so ever other than looking slightly nicer.

Mine had one but I broke the mounting clip. Every time I put it in it fell down the gap between engine and rad pack so it's sat in my garage lol.

Does that include the additional mounting post in the kit?
