Fuel gauge + Fuel consumtion

Hi everyone, sorry to myther again.

My problem is, that I dont know how the fuel gauge readings work ?

You have the red reserve bit, then 3 white lines. I presume the first line is half, then three quarters, then full ?

If so, then the right hand end of the red zone is one quarter  

Also, if I put £10, I usually only get 50 miles, is this about right , as I think I may have a fuel leak.
Its a 1.8 carb engine.

nope thats about right my cab not the that economic short jorney wise! you do get much more doing long distance and i have a 1.8 carb! i thought their was a white line for a quarter one for half one for three quarters and full tank! ill check 2mo
