It's fine. If it wasn't it would tell you.

I've not put the oil in that mine has been moaning about yet!

Thanks again Fred.  I'm reassured to hear that from you.

I'll go to VW on Monday and get the oil from them.  I'd rather pay them £25 for a litre than take the risk of putting the wrong oil in.

Got to say I’m amazed nobody seems to check their oil levels more frequently.

I also keep a litre of the correct oil in the boot of each of our cars.

I usually check my under bonnet fluid levels and do a tyre pressure check / visual check of the tyre treads for embedded ‘foreign objects’ when I wash my car, and the car normally gets washed every 2-3 weeks.

I’d rather know in advance if something needs topping up before a warning lamp or warning message  tells me.

Check Volkzwizard's channel. He got oil when he first got his ClubSport. I picked up a litre when I got the same message as Fred after about 12 months of having mine.

I'd check my bottle and post the info, but I'm currently sat in the servicing waiting room at Inchcape.

Are you sure you have the correct oil there Brocky? My GTI states 0w-20 508.00/509.00 on the sticker under the bonnet, is the clubsport different to the 245ps?, this is the oil VW recommended to me https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/173120233691?mkcid=16&mkevt=1&mkrid=711-127632-2357-0&ssspo=gt2bXHAaQNG&sssrc=2349624&ssuid=tp2LCNeJSEm&var=&widget_ver=artemis&media=COPY

I had the same Shell 0w-30 AV-L used in my car at it's year three service, I managed to find a litre top-up plus zip-up bag on eBay for £12.

Not many companies make it to the right VW 504 spec and if you look carefully at the Shell 1ltr bottle it's shape is exactly the same as the stuff VW are selling with their brand on.
