You really won't believe this!

Remember I had a prang approximately one month ago and had the bonnet and front bumper repaired/re-sprayed?

(1) Well, the paint has chipped off the offside upper edge of the bumper close to the wing and I've noticed some scouring marks on the offside front wing near the headlight area. They had to blend-in the paint when they sprayed the bonnet.

Showed this to the bodyshop and they said they will attend to it.

(2) Today, I went to my VW Service Dept at 8.30 am to have the housing around the steering column replaced under warranty. This was, I thought and so did the Warranty Manager, slightly damaged when I had cruise control retro fitted. I was not too bothered by this but she insisted I have this done as they had already paid for the part etc, etc.

Well, the brand new part was much, much worse and the Master Tech refused to fit it. Good of him. He has returned it to the Warranty Manager. So that's that.

He was also shocked at the paint chip on the front bumper edge and the overall fitment of the bumper. He made a very accurate comment about the workmanship.

I think I might have bought a Vankwagen Golf Mk6 GTi.

The Bodyshop is the main one for VAG cars. They all are, unfortunately, just as bad as one another in London  IMO. Or maybe I am too fussy. The thought had crossed my mind. Then I thought 'NO'. I have always had very exacting standards as my profession demands this and I simply have to get these people to up their game. Tough for me unfortunately but even tougher for them.
