In the next week or so i will be stripping down my mk2 gti ready for repaint
the thing is i want to lose the wing mounted ariel and side repeaters and i have
had this done on other cars by so called high end body shops and after a year or so the paint in these area's would start to crack and then it's to late.So i'm
going to do the best job i can?? in these area's.As any one done this before
with out any problems ( no cracking)..

i've filled my hole with the usual chickenwire underneath, fibreglass the top then fill it smooth, no cracking yet. i don't think it'd be a problem on the wing, but you can get blanking plates from a newer spec golf with a mounted aerial iirc

i was thinking of doing this on my spare windscreen wiper blank as its got the usual rot around it. was gonna tidy up and treat the rot, chick wire, fill and then smooth out the hole. then was going to respray that panel around the window so it matched in.
im not sure about doing it now though as i think theres to much aggro involved removing other windscreen wipers and possibly the window unless i mask it up real good. but i have no experiance in this area so would more than likely screw it up!
anyone tried this? and wanna gimme some inspiration?
