RR readouts from pre engine rebuild.

Not bad considering the valve seals were found in the sump... ahem..

Hey soz the pics aren't fab. It was running at 135 pre rebuild so not sure if it'll have changed since.
It's on the list of things to get sorted/do

Car is awesomely almost done!! Hoorah! Might have it back for Christmas!

Shiny schultzed underside with new brake lines and anti roll bar.

Schultzed arches:

Off the ramp at long last:

Front ride height for now, mostly to get it off the ramp:

He started up first time as well, which is highly unusual for my temperamental shed.

The BBS RAs are in the process of being refurbed and resprayed in a silver the same to the original colour. Then after 440 miles he has to go back to Ian at Retro GTi for an oil change and general check over then he can go above 50mph on the road. Which consequentially means I can take him back home to Kent via the main roads and have a car again!
Shouldn't have any problem at all when MOT comes around at Jan/Feb.

Today's update is that the starter motor has burnt out and needs to be replaced. Probably due to the sh*tty battery that was in the car.
So that's another £68 gone just before Christmas. Luckily, GSF have one so it should be replaced within the day.

Update again:

New kick plates:

Process for new door handles:

New door handles, not a good picture mind:

Oh look what the bodyshop messed up (again)!!:

Turns out never trust a bodyshop who have f*cked it up in the first place!

First stage of cleaning:

All dried off before machine polishing:

Although it may look shiny, it's completely and utterly foobared and needs to be flattened and sorted out! SIGH!
The paint has had to be sanded in places in order for it to be completely corrected.

Also it got checked last night to make sure that the fueling is all set up peachy keen and it is! YAY!
It could almost pass a cat emissions test too!

Now begins the machine polishing.

The OH is in charge of this (it being his job and all) makes life a bit easier for me. Yay!

Bonnet time. All taped up and mid polishing:

Bonnet and Wings done in about 6 hours using 3 stage process (if anyone asks *shrug*):

The sump seems to be leaking a little at the moment, apparently they are a wee bit notorious for that so its going to be resealed soon.

Some serious picture whoreage of a machined and waxed Toast:

All masked up pre polishing

Machine polished and waxed with Collinite 476 for extra durability.

The old BBS have been refurbed and re-put back on to count as my winter wheelies, while the RS' are also refurbed.

As much as I love my RS' its for the best to run with these on for the now.

MOT time soon, but with the amount of work that the car's had done, i.e. an engine rebuild, it should literally fly through!
It better
