Wont rev past 5000
« on: 26 May 2010, 18:12 »
Hi folks, recently got myself a cheap 2.0 8V agg engined mk 3. Runs ok(ish) but doesn't like to tickover until its warmed up a little, and won't rev past 5k. I have checked the cam timing and this appers ok (including dizzy timing) so is it likely to be hall sensor or am i missing something?? Not got a vag com thingymajig yet, so if anyone in the Buxton/Derbyshire area feels like helping, then please shout up  Cheers, Mart
If the hammer dont fix it, maybe the hammers broke?

been covered many times on the main mk3 forum - its either timing or crank/cam sensor fault I believe

Have a search

You only ever need two tools in life. If it moves and it shouldn't use Duct Tape. If it does not move and it should, use WD40.
