MK8 Which ones.
« on: 05 July 2021, 00:05 »
Hi everyone,

New in here but post a few times recently.

Anyway, after having my Mk8 GTI less than a week, I am ready to change the Richmond standard wheels, but I’m having trouble choosing.

I’m going to stay on 18s as I like the ride and it’s saves me money as I will be using the factory tyres of the standard wheels.

What are peoples thoughts on the below? I do like the Adelaide's but also think the Pretoria’s. Would the gloss black be too much on a black car.

Anyway, any help would be appreciated as I feel like I’m losing my mind deciding.

Thanks for looking.

For me I think Gunmetal would look best on a black car

Following as I'm in the exact same boat, however how about an 18" Estoril from CM? Someone has them on an R-Line I seen but its hard to tell what its really like due to the suspension difference to the CS, they looked to have a big gap. Id be keen to see an Adelaide in 18" too though.

Or the Brescia?

18” prets in black on silver car here

I have to say they look brilliant and for me the right size. I am concerned 18s will look to small but they don’t on that.

I like them all just so hard to chose without seeing them first. I’m siding with the Adelaides as I like them.

I’m the same, prets are easiest choice as I’ve seen them on a car but the others it’s too difficult to visualise.

This was an image someone sent me of 18” estorils. It’s worth checking the width as not all the cm wheels are 8x18 and et45. Some are only 7.5 and a different offset.

They look well against the white but I think might be lost on a black car. I’m sticking to 18’s for two reason. Want to cut the cost down and use the stock tyres and want to keep the comfortable ride.
