its better to just get a low insurance car at first, i started of with a sheddy 1.2 nova 3dr  greg  as got it for a few £100 quid they wernt as bad 5 years ago, when was age 17-18 but done the job, in a way im glad i started at a low powered car and progressed i think 1.3 golfs are group7 so you could get something a lot quicker in a lower group until youve been driving  after years ,i always wanted hatchbacks and golfs, and had a 1.6 driver at age 18-19 then

I really hate to piss on your fire, but I think you will find that the Citroen is 2 years free insurance if you are 25 or older, read the small print as this is usually the case

I didnt pass my test till I was 18, £900 tpft on a £600 Clio 1.4. Im 20 now and still get done in the bum by insurance, all be it driving a MK4 GTi.
