Morning,
So having problems after doing an engine rebuild. Have detonation on the pistons which would indicate too high a compression. Block was decked and head skimmed and fitted with OEM head gasket which I believe is 0.9mm thick.
Now it did have previous machining done to it but no clue as to how much was removed. I think that the machining has raised the compression too much and thus needs a thicker head gasket compared to the OEM spec.
My question simply is, does anyone know the height of the cylinder head so that I can work out what thickness head gasket to get to put the compression ratio back to standard which is 9.6:1 I believe but correct me if I am wrong.
Thanks
