So just two screws and don’t have to take steering wheel off.  That’s good news.

Just need to source the part now.

Looks like it doesn’t have screws behind steering wheel on a 2013-2017

You'd need to double check the part number if it has keyless entry or normal entry with an ignition barrel. Be best to just ring a Volkswagen parts department and get them to use your vin to find it. I need to do the same job but couldn't be bothered taking the steering wheel off.

Badly enough, ideally there would be no scratches.

I dont think steering cowlings are particularly expensive.

I dont think steering cowlings are particularly expensive.

They're around £70-85 for both pieces from memory. A heat gun a grain pad would fix it, but it's in a location with a mix of materials and key electrical components so personally wouldn't try it and if I were removing it to do it I'd just buy the new cowl.

yes replace would be good idea and dont mind buying one , its taking steering wheel off is bothering me

might ask vw garage how much for parts and labour  ?
