heres my mk2 golf gti 16v which i picked up for £425 with 6 months mot and no tax last weekend. its got 198k on the clock but is in good mechanical order and the bodywork isnt bad apart from a few little rust spots which will be sorted soon.  after a week of ownership i have now taxed the beast and its all fully legal. the car is standard apart from a remus exhaust at the moment although i plan a few subtle mods in the near future.

here a are a few pics of the beast:

and heres my first mod. i put some half smoked 16v rear lights on that should have been on the car as standard :)

ok well i have done a few more bits to the golf over the last couple of weeks. most of the bits have come from Not Escorts in St Neots who are fookin fantastic and a relative gold mine for all dub bits!! ive got a new n/s front wing in atlas grey to go which will replace the one on the car which is dented.

whilst at Not Escorts i also grabbed a new inner spotlight as one is cracked, a set of spax lowering springs and i was also tempted into buying a nice set of mint 17" alloys with brand new tyres!! the wheels look like theyve barely covered a few hundred miles and only one has a mark on it.

Robin also gave some good advice about investing in a set of locking wheel nuts and also some longer wheel bolts as the ones on there could do with being longer and he also pointed out that the tracking on my car is way out! i will be booking the car in for its tracking on friday morning before i drive to birmingham.

as for today i spent a few minutes outside messing with the rear wiper to lay it flat which tidies up the back end even more. i also sorted a few interior parts that had either come loose or were broken.

well thats about it for now, i have a couple of other small parts coming soon though. next up for the old girl will be a 3 bar single light grille if i can ever find one for sale, a set of smoked x-hair lights, grille spoiler and maybe some german styles plates.

anyway heres a couple of crappy pics i took earlier, it was getting dark :(

was lowered today on 40mm drop spax springs and really does look good now. only downside is that one of the top suspension cups on the rear shock was rotten to f**k. will hopefully be getting a new one tommorrow and having it fitted during the week, then its just the tracking that will need to be done :D
