My Mk2 VR6 Project with photo's
« on: 06 March 2011, 13:09 »
Hi, ive been on and off of this forum for about a year or so now and have posted a few times here and there, but I really enjoy the banter and the good laughs I get reading the of topic threads!!!

I have been in love with Vw's since I first attended Bug Jam in the late 80's with my dad!
I bought my first Vw bout 3 years ago a cystic blue vr6!! Bam I was In love
I got into the vr6's big time and before to long I had the vr6 engine into a cabrio..

That went to the great breakers in the sky due to a really bent chassis leg!!!
I was vw-less for about 6 months then this came along at a fairly reasonable price

Was  1985 gti with a k-jet mech fuel injection..
Great little car and loads of fun,
I ran it for about 6 months until the MOT ran out and then decided i was going to vr it!!

I bought this

(was a complete car)
for the engine and all the ancillary componants like subframe wiring loom ect ect
Only problem was it was a automatic, I had resigned to the fact that i was going to run an auto box and the great strip-out began!

I still wasn't happy bout having to run it auto then this engine/gearbox became available at a good price and I couldnt resist!!!

Ive a pile more pictures on my other camera and I have also been keeping a log-book of all the activities and time frame for the completion of jobs ect ect..
as soon as I get a little bit further i'll post more,

Thanks for reading

Is that Chris on the right? Can't see his face tho.

Nice project though, I will have to come find you at college, have seen the car pull up before.
