wish i could make inters, car is in bits awaiting box going in etc

hope to make all the shows after tho, hopefully won't be too long till this Big Turbo kit is installed.

need to refurb a few parts on that (mainly the cosmetics of the external waste gate as this will be visible at the back of the bay  )

and need to decide which Rods to go for too.. want riffle drilled items as per the OEM ones

A little update on the New Box

2 words..  FOOKING AWESOME!!!

I recommend anyone running 200Hp +in a MK3 or older to spend the money on a decent Limited slip diff over further power mods

car is transformed into a total beast, no more stupid loss of traction at the lights, just feels like the car is super glued to the tarmac, on the bends i can only describe it as tho the car feels like it has 4WD

the Longer gears from the addition of the VR6 final drive coupled with the Lightened Flywheel have also helped make this the Ultimate 20vt Box for a MK3!

here is the Hotgolf Lightened and balanced flywheels next to the regular ABF one, he has machined this to suit Turbo car, which is a lot different to how he would do N/A types



I have no pics asof yet but we also modified the tunnel on the cars shell and fitted the much better MK4 GTI shift linkage (a must mod for slick gear change!!!!)

Gave it the first real test earlier on a private test strip over around a mile or so from a standing start, up against a 2006 BMW M5  (0-60 is 4 seconds on these)

I was behind the M5 and held on to its rear bumper right up to 120MPH where we both let off...  i was very pleased with this as previously i would have been left for dust due to me just been sat their spinning


So, the EMR code 02J box fitted with Wavetrac Limited Slip diff, VR6 final Drive and full rebuild.

Also another tiny mod was the latest type coolant reservoir cap, i painted the Red logo black to match the car tho (took a very delicate hand haha)




NEXT UP... in the next few weeks we bid a farewell to the trusty KO4 in favour of the Genuine MTM kit with K24 7200 Turbo....  Google these if u have no idea...

basically a K26 hybrid into a K24 housing to reduce any lag.. good for 360bhp and was fitted to the Audi RS2



The Turbo comes fresh rebuild with zero miles

Also bagged some used I E Forged Con rods and ARP bolts on the bay so these will be going in at the same time as the Big turbo upgrade





Gotta give a absolutely huge shout to Martin - HOTGOLF for the Box rebuild and Flywheel

Just when I think there's noting really left to do, you decide to do something new 

I do love tis thread, not many things you see done in the uk, like the final drive ratio's etc being swapped round. Now the big question is what will be the next to do thing after the turbo and rebuild?
