ok this is my mk3 gti AKA rehab.
just thought id add a few pics to see what everybodies thoughts are on him lol

i have developed an issue. got a feeling it may be coil but want other opinions aswell.

few months ago i put on brand new plugs. leads
oil and filters.

have developed an intermiten problem now. whenon idle car is fine as soon as i rev from idle it seems to suck in air and almost die then the revs pic up fine. its almost like its not running on all pistons till it gets to like 3000 revs then its fine.
then its totaly fine drive perfect. but ever now and then it will be a b!tch to start. sometimes if im as a set of lights waiting tick over fine i go to pull away then it splutters and coughs then with more revs its fine again.
any ideas?

here are a few pics

Plugs do this. Runs sh!t then work about 3000/4000rpm.

So since you've replaced them it will be coil.

I had a horrible flat spot at about 2000rpm -

Plugs, leads, distributor cap, rotor arm made a little but no real difference

Swapped the MAF out for a known good one (just to eliminate that) - no effect

One can of injector cleaner into a tank full of fuel and it was gone :)

it's always worth a try - cheap and doesn't involve getting your hands dirty :)

I would also recommend a new temp sensor, they control fuelling and can make the car run rich/lean at lower rpm (it should be part of a good service t.b.h along with the throttle body clean up)
