Title: Exhaust recommendations for the MK7
Post by: GTIJamie on 16 May 2019, 10:33
Does anyone have any recommendations for a good exhaust on the MK7? I don't want to change the exterior styling too dramatically as I want to keep it looking relatively OEM and not full boy racer but also a good bit of tone would help. Wondered whether anyone was in a similar situation and found the perfect solution?

I have a VAG Sport res-delete and the ClubSport S rear box. Sounds awesome and remains stock.
If you want power gains you’ll need a down pipe too.

Hi Lump,

Have you got any pictures of this on your GTI? I'm really toying with this idea but haven't seen a good rear picture with it happened. It does sound really good though, I can only imagine what it sounds like with the downpipe

I haven’t but it looks cosmetically the same apart from slightly bigger tips.
Plenty of photos on Google though.
I think The Clubsport S box and res-delete might match your stated aim but I’d be careful that adding a bigger bore or free flowing cat downpipe as you might edge up the volume quite a bit.
Maybe do it in stages.

Yeah, maybe the muffler and Res delete first but I think a downpipe will come regardless for the extra power.

Thanks Lump

I have the Remus backbox delete on my Gti. Sounds good and tips look bigger than oem.

That looks quite good. Does it sit quite flush with the rear valance or poke out?

You can set the position of the tailpipes as they are separate from the pipework.

Where did you get the Clubort S rear box?
