Mk8 GTD Lane assist
« on: 02 December 2021, 21:26 »
Can anyone help with the procedure for turning off the lane assist permanently on my mk8 gtd.

The local  dealer wont do it and I have spoken to an independent garage and he has asked I get info from someone on the forum and it would take him a lot less time and save me money.

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks.
David.

Depends where you live, you need someone local with an OBDeleven. If your in Nottingham I can do it....but if not then you need to let people know where you are.

All the info needed is on the OBDeleven forum.

Sorry, should have said, I’m in Ayrshire in Scotland.

The guy at the local garage had OBDeleven, but has that I try and get info to save time.

Thanks.
David.

Here is the coding and process.

- Start ignition and turn off Lane Assist using button

- Pop the bonnet handle to release the bonnet (you do not need to raise the bonnet fully).
This is important otherwise the coding will not ‘write’ and you get a failed write message.

- Plug in OBDeleven dongle into one port (located underneath drivers right side trim)

- Turn ignition on (engine does not need to be running)

- Launch OBDeleven on phone

- Code as follows:

- go to A5 Driver Assistance control unit

-turn off sfd protection

- then Long coding tab

- scroll down to Configuration for lane departure warning Kl15

- Change from default ‘Activated’ to ‘Last Setting’

-Slide to write coding

- Coding accepted and default is now set to ‘Last setting’

- A few ignition starts to test and Lane Assist should now deactivated by default at ignition startup.

If he follows those steps it should work.

Ideal, I will get the guy at the garage to try this and let you know how it goes.

Thanks.

Do you think doing this would affect the warranty in any way?
