Wet drivers side floor mk6 gti 2009
« on: 02 December 2021, 17:41 »
Hi all ! I haven’t really used my car in the wet, but recently I have had to ! I have noticed that the floor/carpet on the drivers side foot well is soaking ! Anyone got any ideas what would cause this ? (I haven’t spilt anything either lol) it not from wet shoes either as I have a Matt down and I left a towel in there and that was wet too , thanks all picture of the wet floor for reference

I expect. The inner panel seal has failed and water leaks into the footwell between the inner plastic panel behind the door panel Trim And the door panel trim. water then runs over the door sill into the footwell. Happens on most VW products. Heres a how too fix for the Seat leon same issue happens with the mk6 golf. Fixed a few using this same method now.

Great thanks I’m taking it to garage tomorrow? I bought the car from a car dealer and they have a 6 month warranty on it would it be covered by that ?

Garage said that some grommets were missing where someone has replaced the bonnet cable as this was incorrectly fitted - hopefully that sorts it or it will be going back for further investigation!
