Adjusting adaptable headlights.
« on: 20 September 2013, 17:47 »
Just a wee note, when i got my car back from the garage recently, i noticed the lights were set too high. I'm guessing this is because the computer had been reconnected while the car was on a ramp and re-calibrated itself all wrong.
I raked around on here for a solution ,not involving going back to the garage, to no avail, so i ended up on another site where i found a simple solution.

The adaptable headlights have 2 x 6mm hex key adjusters on the lighting unit, 1 black and 1 white, the black does Left to right and the white does up and down.
Using a plank of wood set at 10ft and 20ft you can adjust the light to be 26" on the Left and 25" on the Right at both ranges and this is about spot on for setting the lights.

It took me 2 mins to sort it out and i though it was a handy wee tip to share. You can do it with Vag-com software too, but the mandraulic version suited me fine.
