Hello all! Newbie here.
« on: 21 August 2011, 14:54 »
Hi folks.

Think I should introduce myself before posting like a mad man!

My name's Carl and until last week I was a mechanic for a Smart car specialist. I now run my local! Ha!

I love dub's, particularly Mk1's and 2's. I've owned several cars from within the the VAG family and have just come across an 8v Mk3 Golf Gti at a price I just can't turn down.

She needs a little work, but nothing really, window runners, and idle control valve, possibly a new MAF sensor.

The idea is a little project to keep me out of the wife's hair, fairly low key, I don't expect to be setting the world on fire. Like so many others I love the simple - euro - no gashy bodykit stuff. My focus is on cleanliness, stance and the right wheels.

So hope to see you all soon!

Perks.

Thanks very much!

I'm a usual on Smartz, detailing world and Smartmaniacs so some of you may know me from there.

Anyone know if a 16v head conversion is cost effective? If it's a real ball ache I'll not bother and just play with what I've got. :)
