Hi, took my car in today to have the lane assist switched off.

The guy in the garage was unable to do it as he doesn’t have an OBDeleven dongle.

He has asked if anyone has the code for VCDS/Vagcom to allow him to do it.

Any help is appreciated.

Thanks.

David.

There is a short cut to switching off Lane Assist (apologies if you already knew this) - outlined in the first post of the thread over on VWROC.com forum at the link below. Still needs to be done at the start of each journey though but quick and easy to do.

I don’t visit the R forum so won’t click on the link but will guess it’s the Brocky method which was discussed much on here previously.
It takes less than 3 seconds at the start of each ignition cycle so hardly worth investing cash into to switch it out permanently. A different story if you already own the OBD11 gear so effectively free.

Ah, I’d forgotten about the Brocky method (apologies @Brocky).

Agree, it’s no hardship to spend 3 seconds each ignition cycle to turn it off, and not getting it coded out permanently still gives you the option to have it activated on those rare occasions when you might want it switched on.

No need to apologise.  I still find it humorous and a little flattered that it has been labelled that.  I'm not sure if I was the first to discover it outside of these forum walls but it's nice all the same.
