This is what you do

After you've done it, reboot the infotainment system. Then it's accessible using the view button on the steering wheel... Cycle through to find it.

What's less safe abour rear DRL activation as I have this activated and struggle to understand why its not standard?

In daylight, front DRLs make a vehicle coming towards you more noticable. You don't need to be made aware of a vehicle moving away from you by the illumination of tail lights, as the hazard is, errrr, moving away.

If light levels are low enough that visibility from behind could be compromised then auto lights or the headlight switch will take care of that.

The only thing that rear DRLs will do is protect the stupid. You know, the people you see driving in the rain/fog/dark with DRLs and no tail lights. The issue here isn't the lack of rear Daytime Running Lights it's some peoples inability to know how and when to use there vehicles lights properly.
Red Mk6 gone replaced with a white Mk7 which has gone too. Green Mk2 here to stay.

This is how I changed things to get the maps on the dash, used obd eleven and an iPhone.

Turn off sfd for the 5F unit first

To activate and to view maps on cluster ,you go into adaptions on the 5F control unit and under dashboard display configuration the settings should be as followed…

Navigation map transmission mode - IP Streaming
Navigation map compression mode - H264
Navigation map resolution - 1
Crossroad detail map transmission mode - Off
Crossroad detail map resolution - 0
Cover art - Bap
Station art - Bap
Call Picture - Bap
Dynamic icon -off
Ability switch nav maps - No

Make sure hood is open when writing to car

Once complete you should now have map cluster option on map (bottom left circle with 3 lines) may be greyed out at first and unable to select but do the below if you have this issue.

*you may need to reset infotainment system after by long pressing on/off button for 20 seconds to reset infotainment system.
