What have you done to your MK 7 today ?

I have owned a Mk6 golf, no radar. A Mk7 which had a square radar sensor under the bumper in the lower grill which when it activated the first time, scared the  life out of me. I have a Mk 7.5 GTI which has the radar behind the VW badge on the front. I live in Northern Ireland and believe willni does too. As we are part of the UK to my knowledge our cars are UK spec. I think that cars in Eire/Ireland (the Republic of Ireland) have a different spec. There are plenty of members on this forum who will be able to comment on the spec of cars in the Republic. This is meant as helpful information not political comment. Any offence that might be caused is unintentional.

The many names of Ireland gave me a good laugh 

Ireland did have lower spec cars from memory in the early mk7's where Ireland had to spec xenons and the radar themselves. However the standard Irish mk7.5 are the same as UK spec iirc.

Correct. I had to spec xenons on my Mk7 for almost €2k and the 18” wheels (standard were painted 17’s). We, however had the option of alcantara inserts in the seats on the early Mk7’s which the UK didn’t.(?) I’m from Cork btw

Decided to refurb the summer alloys.

Just trying to decide on an alloy refurb colour for the Pretorias now as I never particularly gelled with the factory Matte Grey.

Currently between a darker & brighter version of the factory blue chrome or gloss black.

Had 2 new Pirelli P7’s fitted after 20,500 on the old ones. Still had 3mm but starting to crack so thought it was about time they were replaced.

Had to replace my key fob battery this morning which is almost exactly a year to the day from the last time.

I set off for work ok but when I went to lock-up in the carpark I got absolutely nothing from the fob.... very fortunately I had a couple of new batteries stashed in the glovebox.... I then did my finger in trying to take the cover off.

Annoyingly it just confirmed that my car doesn't display any low battery warning anywhere.
