Qu’s - pulling away in M1 and gear display!
« on: 23 March 2024, 04:45 »
Hi All

Am I missing something…?

How do I pull away in manual, as when stationary I cannot seem to select manual with the paddles? Also, is there a way to display which gear I am in in D?

Many thanks.

Don't know of any way to show actual gear when in D.

Tried to do that myself and never have.

It does show the gear when you put the gearbox in sports mode (S1, S2, etc) so it must have been easy to do. Yet another omission by VW not to allow in D.

I don't use paddles much, so I can't help with the other query

Hi GE90,

The gearbox has to be in S mode to pull away in manual.

In D manual reverts back to auto when stationary.

Odd that it doesn't show the gear in D on a mk8... definitely has it on the 7.5.

It’s more than odd……it’s bizarre!
Even my son’s 2017 Mazda CX3 shows the gear you are in ……..
