HD wax is absolutely fantastic stuff, it gives a really deep wet look finish (like the Cherry glaze, but better) but lasts much much longer. Not used Collinite myself but I hear that is also good.

The HD wax is a bit pricey, but you only use a small amount each time you apply and you won't need to use it very often so it is very good value. It also comes with an MF cloth and 2 applicator sponges.

Buy it off ebay, it's about £25 plus postage. Trust me, you won't be disappointed.

HD Wax gets "good" write-ups on detailing world, but not amazing. I thinks its popular because its the best overall wax you can buy in halfords.

If you want gloss/wet shine, you would be far better off with a similar priced tub of Dodo wax. If you want protection, you could spend under £20 and get a tub of colli or FK1000.

agree

i mentioned HD wax because the OP was mentioning that they were purchasing in Halfords... I was mentioning that as it was the best one I could think of that I have seen in there.

agree about the Dodo/Colli route... £20 will get you either a nice shiny dodo or a nice bit of protection and shine from colli.

have to say for quality product you should start purchasing at specialist retailers... such as elite

supernatural - although you will complain about the price as you get even less of that than the HD wax and it costs twice as much!

maybe consider hard candy if you want a dodo juice wax for a reasonable price

although HD wax if you are set on using AG products will do pretty much the same thing

Colli 915 still, imo, represents good value for money for shine and protection

If thats your car in the sig then I would go for something like this

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/DoDo-Juice-Orange-Crush-Soft-Wax-250ml_W0QQitemZ260421585373QQcmdZViewItemQQptZUK_CarsParts_Vehicles_CarParts_SM?hash=item3ca25609dd&_trksid=p4634.c0.m14.l1262&_trkparms=%7C301%3A0%7C293%3A1%7C294%3A30

Very good wax and that ebay seller posts for free, even on one pot of wax

Cheers for all the helpful replies. Been most educational ...

I typed in "Carwax with the highest carnauba content" in to Google ... first thing that came up was Collinite 915 ... so as recommended by users already, I thought i'll just buy a tub so paid for one on ebay ... £24 total.

I'll see how it goes although I doubt i'll notice a massive difference because my cars gleaming already with just the AG SRP & AutoSmart Glaze treatment.

it will enhance the glaze... and allow you to keep it protected for months... so you won't have to use your SRP every week... prob just once every 2-3 months - a lot less effort!
