A partly enforced economy run. Got an unexpected early release from work so thought I'd give the GTI a bit of a run so took the long way home. 18 miles, mostly motorway. Was intending to give the right pedal some exercise only to find the M25 a bit slow. The mpg was clocking up rather nicely so I thought I'd see how high I could get it. Settled in nicely behind a slow lorry and just as I left the M3 it was on 50.1. Peaked at 50.3 about 3/4 mile from home but some junctions knocked it back to an average 49.4 once reversed on to the drive. Not bad though! Not in any rush to repeat it anytime soon...

Saw these dirt cheap on the bay, and thought I'd get them for the rear door speakers to look similar to the ones up front, and slightly brighten up the back doors a little.  Just for fun.

Did the Dynaudio part of this little mod today so Thank you Sootchucker...

Just waiting for speaker surrounds to turn up.

So I found myself with a little time on my hands on a beautiful sunny day, so I decided it was time for a little bit of DIY painting, so i gave the old disc bells a lick of paint

I can't take any credit for this find as it was Sootchucker that first put me onto them but they are good and it just adds what should be there already.

Received the speaker surrounds yesterday to go with Dynaudio badges.

Also changed the CRD3 to setting 3 with no lights.

Only time will tell if I have anymore issues.

Was allowed to take the CS to Oulton for a spot of testing after washing it last week.
