I did joke about this as going to a car meet and said 19" Prets, 18" TSW, 18" Pro Race or 18" Rotarys, the Cadiz have no tyres on

Something else I'll have to buy now.
I need to stop looking at this forum, it's fleecing me dry

It never stops. There's always something you just "have to have".  If you do order from that website - it gets shipped from China and takes a while to arrive.  Just a heads up.

i think it is outrageous you have done some visual stuff and not shared it

I cannot believe how restrained i've been on the R front apart from the wheel collection

Haha wigit.

I've haven't fitted the footrest yet.  Don't worry there'll be pics when I do.

It's about time we saw something of your's and mrs digits' R's.  Was beginning to think you no longer had any.

Have you got your wheel room/storage yet?  Can't we have a pic of the collection all neatly lined up........pleeeease.

The vanity of you DSG owners knows no bounds
It is an improvement though.

You can fit one on a manual I'm sure.  Cheap and better than oem. DSG is by the by ;-)

Yes you can fit it to a manual. I test fitted it to my GTI before I picked up my R

I knew I'd seen a pic of it on a manual on here somewhere. And I was pretty sure it was yours.....trailblazer you are.

Found it!  Looks great on a manual...........Mr Ex, fancy it?

I did consider fitting one good while back when I had my GTI, Madamoiselle B, but I never got round to it.
With the extra brushed metal bits in the GTI it'd look really good too.
However I've not really been motivated to do much with the R. I'd be more likely to fit another set of wheels than any interior embellishments.
Mind you, I only see the car in the dark at the moment so the foot wells are invisible!
Maybe once the days draw out a bit ill feel the need for some interior bling in my life, to lighten up the 50 shades of black interior!

A couple of days back some buffoon in a 65 Plate Mark7 standard Golf with GTI letters added on the back pulled up alongside me at some lights. I gave him a thumbs up and laughed. God loves a trier ...

Fitted this......

Looks great and matches in nicely with the pedals – looks oem.  Somewhere pretty to rest my idling left foot, lol.

Purchased from here http://www.aliexpress.com/item/2014-2016-For-VW-Golf-7-MK7-Seat-mk3-footrest-pedals-Car-pedal-Cover/32433307485.html?spm=2114.30010308.3.11.6SzX41&ws_ab_test=searchweb201556_2,searchweb201644_3_10001_10002_10005_301_10006_10003_10004_62,searchweb201560_5,searchweb1451318400_6150,searchweb1451318411_6448&btsid=b0248db2-21f8-4eb5-a883-a9a7b51069db

Easy job – took 20 mins.  Need a T20 Torx bit and a sharp knife/blade.  Quick installation guide below:

OEM footrest cover – locate Torx screw

Undo Torx screw – T20 screw Torx bit required.

Once unscrewed and tore screw set aside, remove the oem footrest by pushing it up towards the bulkhead, tilting it at the same time.  Note the square holes into which the locating lugs on the new footrest cover slot into.

OEM locating lugs have a marginally wider slot than aftermarket cover so a little of the plastic may need shaving off with a sharp knife.

OEM slots

Replacement footrest slots – narrower – may need a little slicing off

Fit new footrest cover – angle it into place and slide it from the top pushing down and to the left at the same time.  Give it a moderate tap from the top and it will slot into place.  Screw Torx screw back into position.  The screw hole on the new footrest is much shallower than on the oem one.

Voila!

Looks great with the new mats, very smart. If I can russle up a few £££s some red edged mats, the footrest and some red footwell leds will be going in.
