does anyone have any info (variations, official names etc) on the various shades of grey and silver that were factory colours on the mk2s? cheers

I managed to find this website.  I don't know how accurate it is though.  The code is correct for my colour.

The ETKA disc I have has a colour and trim section on it, let me know your code if you have it and I'll look it up for you.

cheers for the offer but the reason i was asking about colours is that the fool who previously had my golf had removed the sticker with the paint code on, so i had to get paint mixed from the petrol cap colour

Try the following site, gives you colours with interior swatches on both 8V or 16V MK2 models.
