Welcome to the forum.  For details on engine conversions then somewhere like vwvortex website is probably agood place to start. There's some 1.8T conversion links in the garage section, but not 1.8 16V.
......now officially dubless.

Hello & Welcome, i'm doing the same conversion, although i'm using a scirocco 16 inlet manifold to keep the fuel lines on the right side and for a factory look, i should have some pics etc soon, in the meantime here's my parts list so far:-

Fuel System
(Airbox-not too important) metering head/fuel distributor Fuel Injectors with fuel lines

Engine Electrics
Ecu & loom & sensors (knock sensor etc..) Distributor & ignition leads & coil

Engine Ancillaries
Starter Motor/solenoid & fittings
Alternator & fittings

Brakes (entire front system)
Servo & master cylinder
hubs/bearing/carriers/callipers/pads

Others
Gearbox
Exhaust manifold & downpipe
Water pipes/hoses
oil breathers/vacuum lines etc..
Speedo & rev clock

Its all a pretty straighforward swap apart from the exhaust system, you can get specially made manifolds for the conversion startring at about £220. but I'm going to cut and shut my mk1 downpipe to the 16v downpipe and just use the 16v manifold as i'm planning to fit a turbo next and that's going to need an entirely different manifold.
