Does anyone know in laymans terms what oil is used fot the mk6 gti

What oil do you need to use,can only find the vw code in the handbook ?,oh yes non longlife service.

cooking oil or tanning oil works well.

I would use the longlife oil regardless

in the manual vw recomends CASTROL

GTI mk6, 3dr Manual (Yes Manual! If I wanted a Taxi I'd hail one, not spend £1500 on one), Candy White, Full Leather, Xenons, ACC, 18", RCD510 + Dynaudio, DAB Radio, Winter Pack, Luxury Pack, Fiscon Bluetooth Plus, Golf R LED's.

Seriously though, Id use Castrol Edge Sport, maybe a bit OTT, but its good stuff.
