Which Polish?
« on: 03 September 2011, 22:07 »
ive been putting buying a polish off for a while now, ive got 2 of everything else, but i have no polish, ive come to the conclusion that i want a micro-abrasive polish, my paintwork is really quite bad, so i need a polish with fillers

im torn between these two...

-----

Meguiars Ultimate Compound

Autoglym Super Resin Polish

-----

ive never been a fan of AG, but i know the SRP has constant high reviews, and i think the AG Fast Glass is amazing (for a glass cleaner)

im not considering DoDo Juice Lime Prime, as i feel its over priced, where as the other 2, theyre near enough the same price for the same quantity, im a megs fan but i dont know if the SRP will be better?

opinions?

thanks guys!

lime prime - dont bother if you dont have a machine buffer imo.

I am under the impression AG is just a filler.

Megs glass cleaner is miles better than AG glass cleaner

I have them both and I do rate both products but for different jobs !

SRP is (IMO) a very good polish which does a good job of filling and masking as well as providing a good shine and base layer to wax or seal on top of.

Megs Ultimate compound is when used by hand very good at removel of light scratches and swirls but like a lot of products it does have to be worked to get the best from it.

I have Meg's ultimate compound and I applied by hand and by DA polisher and both times been disappointed. I use the 3M compounds and polish and get great results but like lime prime these are better when used with a DA polisher.

if you need a polish with fillers then AG SRP is your product

if you want a good polish by hand then dodo LP will do the job very well, but obviously not as well as with a polisher

if you are looking for any type of correction then you will need to use a DA/Rotary

Have a look at Auto Finesse Tripple:

Superb AIO, which cuts, fills and protects (similar to SRP, but boosted on each front)

Better value than Lime Prime too

If this product is used, does that mean there's no need to wax??

DJ LP applied by hand is really great. Fantastic results IMO. Also good at getting rid of stubborn tar stains if missed em before hand!
