Nice work, instant review thread

I've decided I'm going to look for the best 2021 car. Its a simple test, it's going to be the one with the easiest, most obvious lane assist disable function.

So far my research suggests it's a golf.

I’m sure it was just one button in the 1 series.
Mind you “the 1” can’t do 0-60 in three seconds or do drifts on the way down to the supermarket.

So tell me, why did their (eventual) proper S3 vs R drag race show that the R was quicker.... but nothing like as much as we've seen elsewhere?

Could it be that despite launch control and DSG, there are other factors involved that can make all of the difference.

I wonder also if some of the other videos haven't featured people who didn't turn auto hold off before launching...

I know it’s far from an exact science but rolling road tests I’ve seen of the R and S3 seem to point to the cars producing more power than official manufacturer figures, and as a comparison the M135i and the JCW thing with side opening rear doors that it shares a chassis and engine/gearbox with produce less than the 306 PS BMW group rate it at.
For consistency purposes Racechip (I know, I know) have released videos of some of these cars showing comparative figures on their own rolling road. Unfortunately not all in the same video. Whether their rollers under or over read or not the difference between each unit’s output should be fairly consistent.
