Hi guys as many of u know there will be a swindon(wilts) meet on sun 7th dec at the beefeater pub just of J16 M4......ive been in communication with nick@R-TECH to arrange for him to come down and attend and we've sorted a one of mapping day for you guys for a charity that means alot to me and my family....basically he's willing to map ALL mk4 1.8T's and 1.9Tdi's @ £150 also mk 5's @ £185 on the day which i think is unbelievably cheap!!!! profits to go to a local pre-school facing closure in dorset which me and my family do charity work for as its close to our hearts........if people are interested in this mapping deal PLEASE PM ME and NOT NICK@R'TECH i will then contact nick to arrange timings etc!!!as only a limited amount of cars can be done on the day and ITS A 1 OFF so no mapping after the meet at this price will be done. anymore info please pm me, many thanks to everyone and especially nick for making this possible :wink:

im going to hav eto check where i am finacially as im getting tattooed on teh 19th which is £120 if only i didnt have that i would be able to no doubt! but this shoudl be the last session on my arm taken nearly 3 yrs so can cancel now been waiting 6 months just for this appointment

just ring and ask mite be 10-20% loading then again depending on insurer and ur age etc could be less

yeah ill give um a ring and ask see what the diffence is, im 24 0NCB so its not that cheap at the mo! well not that bad but Iknow Nick has said with the AUM which I have should be able to get 200 -210 from 150 what % increase is that sorry im dense as i knwo they as what % the BHP has increased by :P

150 BHP /10 = 15BHP, MAPPING = 210bhp so 15/60bhp increase =40% increase lol :undecided:

The Running Horse was always a lot better... :wink: Although my good lady and me always had a nice meal in the Lydiard when we lived in Swindon.
I will check if the Swindon Wildcats are at home that day too as that will be the ideal excuse to come down. :smiley:

Even though this increase isn't as much as on the 1.8Ts do you think it would significantly decrease the life of the clutch? or would 30 extra not really make much difference as i presume the clutch on the 150 is slightly uprated anyway?!?! (yes/ no??) and i've also read the life of the turbo hates re-maps? again would it make much difference here???

clutch is the same as the 130 TDI so rated to approx 285lbs ft torque which the remap will take it right to its limits
as long as you drive normally, don't thrash from cold etc your turbo should last as long as would be normal

just called around a few VW specialists and they say the same as you Rhyso, so thanks very much for that. instead of re-mapping- one guy recommended a chip that tricks the comp into thinking the fuel temp is warmer (or something!?!) and he reckon that gets 29bhp increase. anyone heard of these?? the only reason i'm thinking this way, is when i come to sell, i can simply remove the chip. any experience??

not really - just have a poke around the engine bay and make sure all your boost pipes are secured as the clips are prone to breaking off

hi guys just thought id add my name is andy and my mate paul (K666PDP) will be attending aswell.....bit confusing but due to internet problems ie no connection lol we're using pauls user name at the mo for the meet as its easier for pm's and emails for the mapping.......wud like to add its pauls mum who works for the playschool in lulworth dorset which this whole meet is being arranged to help,the situation is due to poor numbers the playschool is facing closure which will be tragic for the local community we've in the past done fund raising ie sponsored days and boot sales etc to help but its not enough! all id like to say is if u can cud u please donate whatever u can be it 1p its all going in the pot,myself and paul will be about mingling with a bucket lol...would just like to say a massive thankyou to nick etc from R-TECH for unbelievably mapping the cars for NO PROFIT to themselves and donating all proceeds to the playschool they are truley amazing arent they???! :cool: (wish i had a mk4 to take advantage of this brilliant offer but my crappy mk2 will soon be scrapped lol!) ............n thats it.....many thanks to you all for making this possible and we'll both look forward to seeing you all on sunday.. :wink:

Same as mine, AGU engine then. I would say around 190bhp, but Nick from R-Tech can you advise you more precisely :)

so if i get it re-mapped can i still do lil mods after such as filter kit,dump valve without having it re-mapped again? will it make any difference?

That liquid gauge does look very impresive in bens car, my next purchase!!!! the dogs dangleys infact.
And of course a big thankyou to nick and ben from R-TECH we kept them busy for sure and the remap is indeed very sweet and smooth.
pulls hard right through and spins me wheels in third easy!
and another thankyou to the_stink for plenty of pictures from all angles, which iam sure will be here soon enough.
