are there any company's out there that would do a 2.0 16v conversion on my mums mk1 gti cabrio?

looking to get an idea of how much it would cost, to save me the effort.

If there is someone close by on the forum that has done conversions then it may be worth contacting them. If they have the time they will probably charge you half what a professional garage would charge. All I would say is source a well running complete car and engine, not just an engine. You don't want to pay a garage a load of money to fit the engine then find out it's junk or needs work. Good luck!

Engine and box 200-500
Manifold 150-300
Ecu defeat 100
Mounts 120-200
Looms gonna probably take a few hours so 100 150
Set aside 100 or 200 quid for little bits u may need

Another option would be a 1.8t. A BAM lump can be had for under 1k now and as standard it has 225bhp. Qpeng can supply an ECU with switchable map (225 - 260bhp) downpipe and all the other bits required.

If you are paying someone to do a conversion then I would spend a bit more and get a 1.8t, go on, DO IT!
