Topped and tailed it this evening.

Engine bay - wasn’t too bad as was done just after Easter detail, so just a spruce up and dressing with Aerospace 303, a WoWo detailing brush and compressed air for getting into tight dusty nooks.  Forgot to take before pics. Here’s the after:

Boot -  was a bit of a state, bootliner had a big patch of dried on yoghurt where it fell out of a shopping bag and spilt.  Plus general detritus from work stuff.  Bootliner out and boot floor vacuumed with Metorvac Van n Blo, then Auto Finesse Dressle used on plastic trim and bootliner.

I'm surprised you don't have the extra engine cover thingy that VW skimped on
I never bothered but you are a lot more of a perfectionist than me judging by your detailing shed

I do, it's under my desk at work (picked up from TPS ages ago), just haven't got round to fitting it yet.  :embarrassed:

What bit? I'm not one for cleaning engine bays but have in the past years ago.

This bit (not my car):

Here's how to fit it and parts needed if interested.

It looks much better and covers up those hateful little sections that are a pita to clean.

Earlier MK7's had another small plastic cover just in front of the main cover. There was a theory they deleted it as it was prone to working loose and getting caught in the fans but I reckon it was just cost cutting.

MK8 GTI Clubsport. Reflex silver, Estorils, and a few other bits.

So it's only for the 'non tractor' engines. I'll have to get it ordered next year then.
