safe guard your lift pump on later cabs
« on: 23 July 2004, 00:51 »
hello

ive uploaded a photo that shows a filter ive added onto the lift pump which is located on later cabs. Its purpose is to stop any rust from ever getting into the fuel system again, why VW didnt put one on i dont know. it does not upset the performance of the car and allows your car in the worst case to run on dirty fuel.

anyones interested i can give you details how to make your own or i can drum a few up cost a couple of quid for materials.

uploaded a photo on gallery showing the pump with the filter. I know that the fuel lift pump came on later cabs I dont know if it is on the earlier ones, you would have to check by lifting the cap under the rear seat exposing the fuel tank.

its a turned copper cup which has a stainless steel mesh insert, it is fix to the bottom of the intake of the pump.
