Replacing Speakers
« on: 10 December 2004, 13:32 »
Hello.

I have a pretty basic setup in my Mk2 Golf atm and need some advice.

I have ?100 to spend on 4 speakers, is this ok?

2 6x9 to go Onto the rear shelf, as theres holes there already.

And 2 to go in the door pockets.

I Have a Nice New Header unit and will be running a Vibe Sub.

Will i be able to use the existing speaker wires or have to change them?

?100 will buy you some farily decent speakers if you search tound the net. But you do get what you pay for. Dont go for ones with loads of wattage if you are running them from the head unit, as they will be underdriven and sound terrible. The existing speaker wire will be fine if you are on a budget, but should you consider using amps, then use the pre-outs from the head unit and a quality cable from the amp to the speakers.
I don't own this anymore - I just can't be arsed to change the picture
