Still very low .feel for ya mate, know likes seeing this stuff on our cars .  Let me know how u get on as I said when I pull my arches I’ll be checking mine . My mates Gti 2018 at the rear arches have quite a few of zinc inclusions as well so something to keep an eye out for .

Our 2016 car has a fair bit of rust on things like the subframe, drive shafts and suspension arms which I will need to deal with.

My Mk4 Golf had many faults but even at 10+ years old it didn't suffer any rust problems on critical parts.

Only difference is you can get a full new suspension for a mk4 for £400 to sort it if it did.

There is a Volkswizard video that covers potential rust issues on the Mark 7; https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PxLU0b5fL5k

I did mine last summer on a very hot day, so that it was easy to spray the rust proofer.

Galvanised surfaces can still corrode unfortunately, and abrasion can remove the zinc coating from the steel.

One side reacted fairly heavily to the rust neutraliser and the other had a much smaller reaction, I resprayed with graphene primer and put a bit of underseal over it for now, but will be going back later and adding better protection. Probably that helicopter tape Jace recommended.

I considered something like dynamat sound deadening but concern that the bituminous material could hold moisture.

Hi mate do you notice any real difference with the foam triangles removed I’m just deciding if to remove them or not? Thanks

Looks great, but I hate that you have a white silver gti, I want another white silver so badly

With regard to the noise with the foam triangles removed, I've noticed no difference it's such a minor component in noise suppression I doubt anyone would ever notice.

Thanks mate . What did you do with your foam triangles ? I’m debating removing them or not . I don’t want loads of wind noise and checking where they sit I couldn’t see any problem with the paint. Cheers

I chucked mine into the bin  If you're desperate to keep them you could chop 1-2 inches off the arch edge end and should be fine.
